LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has directed PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar to participate in the investigation related to the violent incidents that occurred on May 9. Both Qureshi and Umar appeared before the court during the hearing of their interim bail application.

The PTI’s vice chairman, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, had already filed applications for interim bails following the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants in three cases related to the May 9 incidents.

During the hearing, the court extended the interim bails of both PTI leaders until July 21 in connection with the May 9 incidents. Additionally, the court ordered Qureshi and Umar to actively participate in the ongoing investigations.

Qureshi Dispels Rumors of Differences within PTI

After the court proceedings, Shah Mahmood Qureshi spoke to reporters, stating that he had held several meetings with the PTI chairman Imran Khan to dispel rumors of any differences within the party. He also mentioned that the PTI chief would be meeting with the IMF delegation on the same day to present his perspective on Pakistan-IMF relations, and Qureshi himself would be present during the meeting.
