DUBAI: Dubai Police have rolled out strict security measures for Sunday’s Asia Cup final between Pakistan and India, with over 28,000 fans expected at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium for the high-stakes clash.
The much-awaited clash, set for Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, will see thousands of fans in attendance, all eager to witness the first-ever Asia Cup title decider between the two cricketing giants.
In response, authorities have issued a detailed security advisory in Urdu, outlining strict guidelines for spectators.
One Ticket, One Entry
Police have urged fans to arrive at least three hours before the match begins to avoid long queues and ensure timely screening. Importantly, each ticket will allow only a single entry; fans will not be allowed to re-enter once they leave the stadium.
Items Banned Inside the Stadium
To maintain public safety, a strict ban has been placed on a range of items:
- Flammable materials
- Weapons
- Laser pointers
- Fireworks
- Tripods
- Selfie sticks
- Glass bottles or containers
In addition, spectators have been warned against bringing any political banners or unauthorized placards, as Dubai Police aim to keep the atmosphere free of provocation and disturbances.
Message from Authorities
Dubai Police are urging fans to cooperate fully with law enforcement personnel and security staff at entry points and within the stadium. “We want this match to be a celebration of cricket, and that is only possible with full public cooperation,” the advisory stated.
Sold-Out Stadium, Record Demand
The final will be played in front of a houseful crowd, with organisers confirming that all tickets have sold out. Earlier matches between the arch-rivals drew crowds of 20,000 and 17,000, but the final has surpassed all expectations, with demand at an all-time high.
With tensions on the pitch and excitement in the stands, security officials are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the Asia Cup finale remains memorable for all the right reasons.
