ISLAMABAD: Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner has grabbed the No.1 position for all-rounders in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20 International Player Rankings, following a match-winning performance in the last match of T20 five-match series against India that her team won 4-1.
Ashleigh Gardner was named Player of the Match after her brilliant 66 not out off 32 balls and a haul of 2 for 20. She topped the all-rounders’ list for the first time after improving by three spots. She has surpassed West Indies captain Haley, Indian player Deepti Sharma and News Zealand captain Sophie Devine, who was at the top position through the previous year.
Ashleigh Gardner occupies a career-best batting rankings
Gardner, who scored 11 runs and took 7 wickets in the series, is also up two places to a career-best seventh ranking among batters. She progressed three places to a career-best fourteenth among bowlers in the latest weekly update that also recorded performances in the last contest of the England-West Indies series.
Deepti Sharma’s 53 runs on 34 balls against Australia moved her up three places to 29th in the batting ranking while English Nat Sciver and Indian Richa Ghosh have improved their positions one place each to occupy fifteenth and thirty-ninth spots respectively.
Grace Harris’s unbeaten innings of 64 off 35 balls in Mumbai has moved up her 33 positions to the 61st spot.
In the bowling category, English seamer Freya Davies has gone up 23 spots to 26th position following a haul of 3 for 2 against the West Indies. Australian Darcie Brown has moved up 6 places to the joint 33rd in the ranking.
