DUBAI: Players from Australia and New Zealand have surged up the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings following commanding series victories on home soil.

The weekly update rewards standout individual performances that propelled both nations to decisive wins.

Australia secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the Ashes against England, while New Zealand completed a 2-0 clean sweep over the West Indies, with their key contributors enjoying significant ranking boosts.

Batting Charts Shaken

Australia’s Travis Head made the most dramatic move, rocketing four places to joint-third in the Test batting rankings with a rating of 815.

His match-defining second-innings 170 in Adelaide was the catalyst for the 82-run victory, placing him alongside teammate Steve Smith.

Wicketkeeper Alex Carey also capitalised on his first-innings century, climbing six spots to break into the top ten for the first time, achieving a career-best rating of 737 and securing the ninth position.

For New Zealand, young gun Rachin Ravindra continued his rapid rise, jumping five places to a new career-high of 13th after scores of 72* and 46.

Opener Devon Conway soared to a joint-17th place with a career-best rating of 681, following his monumental 227 and a swift century.

West Indies’ Kavem Hodge earned recognition for his fighting 123*, surging 11 places to a career-best 66th position.

Cummins, Starc Close in on Bowling Summit

The bowling rankings witnessed a major Australian charge towards the pinnacle.

Captain Pat Cummins, with ten wickets in the Adelaide Test, leapt four places to second with a rating of 849, now within 30 points of India’s top-ranked Jasprit Bumrah.

Fellow pace spearhead Mitchell Starc holds firm at third.

Starc also made waves in the Test all-rounders’ list, advancing to joint-third (311) with England’s Ben Stokes, thanks to a vital half-century alongside his wickets.
