ISLAMABAD: With the aim to boost the security of the federal capital, a total of 191 high-technology artificial intelligence-enabled cameras have been installed at Islamabad’s entry and exit points.
Following the directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, the Islamabad Capital Police is installing modern cameras to make security and surveillance more effective in the city.
According to a police spokesman, Safe City Islamabad (SCI) was performing the monitoring and surveillance duties very effectively and playing an important role in eradicating the criminal elements in Islamabad.
Artificial Intelligence enabled cameras
These advanced cameras also helped in arresting a taxi driver involved in the sexual harassment of a woman who registered a complaint on the ICP helpline “Pukar-15”. Safe City Islamabad staff immediately took quick action after receiving the complaint.
It traced the vehicle and shared information with the police. The suspect was arrested, and a case was registered against him at Secretariat Police Station. – APP
