PESHAWAR: The repatriation of illegal foreigners to their respective home countries, including Afghanistan continued via the Torkham crossing point, with a total of 196,413 illegal Afghan refugees repatriated as of November 9, 2023.
As per the Home Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a significant number of deportations have taken place from various regions across the country through the Torkham border. This includes 1,239 illegal foreigners, with 287 from Punjab, 81 from Islamabad, 24 from Azad Kashmir, and 846 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The repatriation process through Torkham has involved 14,683 families, comprising 55,394 males, 42,921 females, and 98,098 children.
Additionally, 3,056 illegal foreigners have been repatriated to Afghanistan through the Angoor Adda South Waziristan border. The cumulative number of repatriated illegal foreigners to their home countries, including Afghanistan, stands at 197,652. On November 9 alone, 3,035 illegal foreigners were repatriated through the Torkham border.
