KARACHI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday emphasized that the country’s prosperity should never be doubted and that collective efforts have successfully countered attempts to create hopelessness in the society.
The Army Chief expressed these views while holding a meeting with Karachi’s business community to discuss important economic affairs.
In the meeting, the Army Chief reminded participants of his previous message from a year ago, urging them not to lose hope, saying that “Despair is a sin.” The COAS emphasized that Pakistan’s prosperity should never be doubted and that collective efforts have successfully countered attempts to create hopelessness in the society.
Highlighting Pakistan’s potential, he remarked that the nation possesses extraordinary skills and capabilities across various fields.
With its huge resources and talent, Pakistan aims to obtain its rightful position on the global stage. The COAS pointed out the positive effects on the country’s economy from controlling smuggling along the western border.
The Chief of Army Staff lauded the role of friendly countries in Pakistan’s economic recovery and acknowledged that major international firms, such as Google and Starlink, are now investing in the the South Asian country.

The Army Chief noted that these achievements would not have been possible without the cooperation of the business community in the country.
He expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s future and assured the business community that their concerns, particularly those related to Karachi, would be addressed on a priority basis.
The COAS invited the business community to collaborate with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for the nation’s economic growth.
The army chief also reiterated the military’s resolve to combatting unlawful activities and called for unwavering confidence in Pakistan’s bright future.
