RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday appreciated the Army Medical Core for ensuring healthcare and medical facilities to the troops and their families, ISPR said in a press release.
According to ISPR, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on his farewell visit, today visited various installations and setups of Pakistan Army Medical Core (AMC), including Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi. Surgeon General of Pakistan Army Medical Core, Lieutenant General Nigar Johar, also accompanied COAS during the visit.
The Army Chief said that providing quality healthcare facilities to the soldiers and their families is an essential feature of the Army’s welfare initiatives. He said these initiatives are critical to boosting the morale of troops of the Pakistan Army, a press release issued by ISPR.
On his arrival at CMH Rawalpindi, the Army Chief was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
During his visit, the COAS was briefed by Commandant CMH Major General Muhammad Mohsin Qureshi about the new and upgraded state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and units established in the hospital.
Medical Healthcare Facilities at AMC
In CMH Rawalpindi, Special counters/rooms have been established to facilitate civilian-non-entitled patients. CMH administration made efforts to provide a patient-friendly healthy environment and allied services to the attendants.
During his visit to AMC and CMH, the Army Chief visited the newly established Academic Centre in the control room. This new academic center will perform a live surgery process and train doctors.
The academic center is designed to facilitate medical students and doctors and provide them with a comprehensive understanding and learning of surgical procedures.
COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated the efforts of the Army Medical Corps of the Pakistan Army for providing state-of-the-art healthcare and rehabilitation services to patients of the Armed Forces, Civilians, and their families.
AMC established a medical facilitation Centre that provides reliable, accessible basic health facilities to ‘Shuhada Families & veterans,’ which includes blood sampling, medicines, and medical checkups.
In CMH Rawalpindi, the upgraded Pharmacy established by AMC is now entertaining 3000 patients daily.
COAS Visited the New Facilities at AMC
During the visit, COAS also laid the cornerstone of the newly constructed training block of the Armed Forces Post Graduate Institute. After that, the COAS visited the newly built guestrooms of the soldiers, the newly established Army Help Centre, and upgraded state-of-the-art facilities provided by the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC).
During the visit, COAS appreciated AMC’s doctors, paramedics, and healthcare professionals for their selfless devotion and professionalism towards their duty and enormous work.
COAS also lauded the massive improvements incorporated into AMC’s healthcare facilities and infrastructure.
