Armed Forces Pay Rich Tribute to Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed on 52nd Martyrdom Anniversary

RAWALPINDI: The armed forces of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Services Chiefs have paid rich tribute to Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider on his 52nd Martyrdom Anniversary, a military statement said on Monday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, displaying valour against all odds, heroically repulsed innumerable attacks by enemy inflicting heavy losses in the battle of Hilli during 1971 War.

ISPR said the epic resistance shown by Major Akram did not allow Indian army to capture even an inch of the motherland till he embraced martyrdom. Such exemplary courage is the hallmark of Pakistan Army defenders to protect the motherland.

Major Muhammad Akram’s martyrdom anniversary serves as extraordinary sacrifices made by the Armed Forces of Pakistan to defend the country.

The statement also called to remember all those heroes who have laid down their lives in defense of the country. It said the nation is proud of its gallant sons.
