RAWALPINDI: The armed forces of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Services Chiefs on Monday paid glowing tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider on his 52nd Martyrdom Anniversary, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed had shown extreme bravery and silenced the enemy’s cannons fearlessly at the Wagah border during Pakistan-India war of 1971.
Despite his fatal injuries Lance Naik Mahfouz Shaheed, strangulated the Indian machine gunner and killed him on the spot. The brave action of Lance Naik Muhamma Mahfooz Shaheed in the battlefield is an example to be followed by all defenders of the motherland.
The ISPR maintained that the martyrdom anniversary of Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfouz serves as a reminder to the extraordinary sacrifices made by the Armed Forces of Pakistan to defend the country.
The statement said the heroes of Pakistan who laid down their lives for their country undoubtedly deserve honor and respect. It said the nation is proud of its gallant sons.
