WASHINGHTON, USA: Authorities in Arizona are searching for Ronald Lee Syvrud, 66, after he allegedly threatened to kill former President Donald Trump on social media, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported on Thursday. Trump, who is currently the Republican nominee for president, was visiting Cochise County as part of his campaign, focusing on the US-Mexico border.
Syvrud, who has multiple outstanding warrants in Wisconsin, is the latest in a series of individuals making threats against political figures as the November 5 general election approaches. Trump, when asked about the threat, expressed no surprise and emphasized his intent to target “bad guys.”
This incident follows a string of recent threats and violence targeting political candidates, including an assassination attempt on Trump in July, which led to increased scrutiny of the US Secret Service and the resignation of its director. Despite the ongoing threats, Trump maintains his respect for the agency.
