ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi has said that the defense production sector has massive potential for growth, which can be completely realized by continuously enhancing the capacity of its human resources and adopting all emerging and critical technologies powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), virtual reality, and robotics.
Arif Alvi calls for modernization, innovation in visit to POF
He expressed these views during his visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Wah on Thursday. He said that there is a need to give more focus to Research and Development in order to bring modernization, and innovation and adopt best practices to further improve and enhance its productivity and efficiency. President Alvi said that modern marketing techniques should be utilized to improve the efficiency of the supply chain to consolidate position in the current markets as Pakistani defense products are high quality, effective, and very cost-effective.

On the occasion, the President lauded Pakistan Ordnance Factories for its central role in moving toward self-sufficiency and in meeting the growing demand of the country’s defense sector and civilian security institutions. President Alvi also visited several parts of POF during the visit.
The President was given an overview of the process of production and manufacturing in POF. President Alvi also took a keen interest in several defense products.
On the occasion, the President was briefed about the role of POF in fulfilling the ammunition requirements of the country’s Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
