CAIRO: The Arab League has held the world responsible for the present situation in the occupied Palestinian territories amid the lack of any factual reaction to the provocative policies pursued by the Israeli right wing against Islamic sanctities, local media reported on Saturday.

In a statement, the Arab League said that such policies are totally against the two-state solution and an effort to abort the endeavors of formation of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders, urging for stopping the Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip immediately.

The Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stated that he has so far warned that the persistent enforcement of violent and extreme policies by Israel is a time bomb that denies the region of any serious opportunity for stability in the long term, noted that the cycle of conflict drags the region away from any actual opportunity to achieve peace and stability in the near future.
