CAIRO: The Arab League and Arab Parliament have strongly condemned Iran’s missile strikes on the city of Erbil in northern Iraq, resulting in the loss of several civilian lives. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the head of the Arab League, described the attacks as a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and extended condolences to the victims’ families, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The Arab League’s spokesman, Jamal Rushdi, expressed deep concern, labeling the missile strikes by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as reprehensible and a condemnable violation of sovereignty and good neighborliness principles. He emphasized the dangerous nature of this development amid the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel in the region.

Arab League Expresses Solidarity with Iraq

Rushdi reiterated the Arab League’s solidarity with the Iraqi government, acknowledging its efforts to maintain sovereignty, security, and regional stability. The Arab Parliament echoed these sentiments, denouncing the Iranian aggression as a blatant assault on Arab national security, considering Iraq’s stability as integral to the broader regional security.

The Arab Parliament expressed full solidarity with Iraq, supporting any measures it takes to preserve sovereignty, stability, and the security of its citizens. Additionally, both bodies conveyed their condolences to the families of the victims affected by the missile strikes.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for launching missiles at Daesh positions in Syria’s Idlib province and targeting a Mossad center in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq.
