RIYADH: Tunisian President Kais Saied met with Saudi Minister for Interior Affairs Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud at Carthage Palace in Tunis on Wednesday.
The meeting was held on the sideline of the 40th session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in Tunis. The Saudi Minister for Interior Affairs is also an honorary chairman of the Council.

On the occasion, Tunisian President Kais Saied highlighted the significant role of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in order to coordinate security cooperation among Arab nations. Kais Saied hoped that the meeting would achieve the goals of the leaders and people of Arab world.

During his opening remarks, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council is being held at a time when the Arab region confronts serious issues like political unrest.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit called for an integrated security vision that considers the social conditions created by recent international developments.
He further said that the most effective way to combat and counter the issue of terrorism is to eliminate Daesh ideology from Arab world.
