LONDON: The Foreign Ministers of Arab and Islamic countries on Wednesday met with the United Kingdom’s Foreign Minister, David Cameron, in London to discuss the Israel-Hamas conflict following the recent agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza lasting at least four days.
In a statement, Cameron expressed the collective desire to utilize this positive development as a foundation for the future. The focus of discussions was on building a peaceful future that ensures fostering peace and stability for the Palestinian people.
Arab and Islamic Foreign Ministers Peace Mission
The meeting was attended by foreign ministers from key nations, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, Turkey, Indonesia, and Nigeria. Also present were the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the Ambassador of Qatar.
The ceasefire agreement, a temporary halt in hostilities, allows for an opportunity to explore long-term solutions and envision a path forward that brings sustained peace to the region.
