ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, said on Saturday that the nation remains steadfast in support of its security forces in their relentless efforts to eliminate terrorists and miscreants causing lawlessness.
In a message commemorating the tragedy at the Army Public School on December 16, 2014, he paid tribute to the security forces for their sacrifices in restoring peace and security in the country.
President Alvi acknowledged that the sorrow for the innocent children who fell victim to the brutality of terrorists at APS Peshawar could never fade away. He emphasized that this tragedy deeply moved people around the world, bringing tears to every eye.
Reflecting on the events of nine years ago, he noted that the enemy targeted the nation’s hope for the future in an attempt to demoralize the country in the war against terrorism. However, he highlighted that the tragic incident ultimately strengthened the resolve and determination of the people against terrorism.
President Alvi expressed a perpetual remembrance of the supreme sacrifice made by the children, referring to them as the flowers of the nation. He reiterated the nation’s solidarity with the parents who demonstrated immense courage and shared their grief.
President Alvi affirmed that the nation remains united against terrorism and is resolute in its determination to eradicate this menace.
