NEW YORK: A court handed Apple a win on Wednesday by suspending a ban on the US sale of its latest Watch models in a dispute over patents with health firm Masimo.

The ban on some Apple smartwatch models came into effect on Tuesday, following the Biden administration opted not to veto a verdict on the patent infringements. However, the court said the ban order would not take effect pending the pleas process.

Following a complaint by Masimo, the US International Trade Commission decided in Oct. to ban Apple Watch models over a patented technology for sensing blood-oxygen levels.

The firm contends it designed the technology and that Apple poached main employees to win access to the know-how.

Apple earlier paused its US sales of Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Series 9 in compliance with the order of the court.

But the iPhone firm contends that the International Trade Commission finding was in error and should be overturned, and pleaded the order in the federal appeals court.

Masimo refused to comment on the development while Apple also did not immediately respond to a query from different section of media.
