ISLAMABAD: Apple is poised to challenge Samsung’s position as the largest smartphone brand globally in 2023 and 2024, with experts projecting that Apple’s iPhone shipments could outpace those of Samsung during this period.

The projections suggest that Apple is on track to ship approximately 220–225 million iPhones in 2023, potentially exceeding Samsung’s anticipated shipments of 220 million units. If realized, this achievement would mark the first time since 2017 that Apple claims the title of the world’s largest smartphone brand.

Experts attribute this potential shift to various factors, including robust demand for Apple’s premium iPhone models and the predicted delays in production for the highly anticipated iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple Smartphones Continue to Attract Consumers

The iPhone 14 Pro Max garnered significant popularity, ranking as the most shipped smartphone during the first half of the year. Analysts believe that the forthcoming iPhone 15 models will continue to attract consumer interest, contributing to Apple’s growth.

However, despite these promising projections, Apple could face certain challenges that might impact its iPhone shipments in 2023.

The ongoing global chip shortage remains a pressing issue, potentially leading to further production delays for the iPhone 15. Additionally, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine poses a potential threat to supply chains, which could subsequently affect iPhone shipments.

Despite these obstacles, industry experts maintain a positive outlook on Apple’s potential to ascend to the status of the largest smartphone brand in the years 2023 and 2024.
