LAHORE: Appellate tribunals on Wednesday rejected PTI founder’s pleas against the decision of returning officers denying him to contest elections from NA-122 and NA-89 that to be held on February 8, local media reported.

Lahore High Court (LHC) Judge Justice Tariq Nadeem conducted hearing of the PTI founder’s plea to contest the general election from NA-122, Lahore. The appellate tribunal also dismissed appeal of PTI founder against rejection of his nomination papers.

Justice Tariq Nadeem had reserved the verdict in the case on Tuesday after hearing the plea. It may be recalled that the returning officer had also rejected PTI founder’s nomination papers to contest elections from NA 122 on December 30.

Similarly, another election tribunal also rejected the PTI founder’s appeal to take part in election from NA-89 Mianwali upholding decision of the returning officer. However, an election tribunal accepted appeal of Yasmin Rashid and permitted her to contest in the general elections.

Meanwhile, in another appeal, the tribunal also permitted Sher Afzal Marwat to contest elections from NA 32.
