SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) urged the United Nations to take immediate action regarding the dire situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
They are urging the UN to pressure India into peacefully resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute without any further delay, with the aim of establishing lasting peace in the region.
According to reports from the Kashmir Media Service on Saturday, the APHC spokesperson, in a statement, criticized the Narendra Modi-led Indian government for resorting to harsh colonial tactics in an attempt to suppress the Kashmiri people’s internationally recognized right to self-determination. The spokesperson referred to the killings, arrests, and other human rights abuses by Indian troops in IIOJK as outdated methods from a bygone era that are being used to quash a just demand. The statement emphasized that political disputes like the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through political means.
The spokesperson also condemned the increase in cordon and search operations and house raids carried out by Indian forces and intelligence agencies across the occupied territory, stating that these repressive measures aim to compel the Kashmiris to abandon their ongoing struggle for freedom.

UN Intervention Crucial for Permanent Peace in Kashmir
Despite facing a long history of suffering and destruction at the hands of Indian occupation forces since 1947, the spokesperson emphasized that the Kashmiri people will not submit to Indian military might and illegal occupation.
The APHC spokesperson called on the UN Secretary-General, as well as other international organizations such as the OIC and the European Union, to take substantial action against India for the grave crimes being committed by its troops on a significant scale in occupied Kashmir. It was emphasized that addressing the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people is imperative for ensuring lasting peace in South Asia.
