SRINAGAR: The leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) paid glowing tributes to the victims of Kupwara massacre on their anniversary and demanded an impartial global probe into all incidents of mass killings in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) to punish the involved Indian troops.
According to local and international media, Indian forces had cruelly killed 27 innocent Kashmiris by resorting to indiscriminate firing in Kupwara on this day in 1994. The mass killing was conducted by the troops to punish people for observing complete shutdown on Indian Republic Day, a day ago in that year.
APHC Leadership Pays Rich Tributes to Victims of Kupwara Massacre
The APHC leaders and organizations including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Abdul Ahad, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qumi, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Democratic Freedom Movement and human rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in their statements issued in Srinagar said the Kupwara bloodshed was the worst example of Indian state terrorism in the occupied Kashmir.
They added that due to the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs, the Kashmir dispute had become a focus of attention at the global level.
The leaders and organizations condemned Indian forces involved in Kupwara massacre and other bloodbaths in the occupied Kashmir have not been punished till date.
They added that the Kashmiri people will not permit the sacrifices of their martyrs to go waste and will accomplish their mission at any cost.
They also appealed to the world to hold India accountable for its crimes in IIOJK and force it to settle the Kashmir dispute as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, and other leaders including Imtiyaz Wani, Altaf Hussain Wani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Syed Gulshan Ahmed, and Muhammad Sultan Butt in their statements issued in Islamabad reminded the international community of its negligence by not putting pressure on New Delhi to punish the perpetrators of mass killings in IIOJK.
They further said despite using every brutal method, New Delhi has failed to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission and they are committed to accomplish freedom from its illegal occupation.
