ISLAMABAD: Senior All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader and Vice Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Altaf Hussain Wani has thanked Pakistan caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar for raising the Kashmir issue at the UN general assembly.
In his statement issued Saturday, Wani said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir, owe a debt of gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their continued and consistent support of our legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination”.
PM Kakar’s bold stance on the Kashmir issue, he said, demonstrated Pakistan’s consistent policy, its unwavering commitment and allegiance towards the cause of Kashmir.
“We deeply appreciate Pakistan’s enduring support and its unwavering commitment to seek a settlement of the dispute in line with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people”, Wani said, adding that despite facing many daunting challenges, Pakistan has never hesitated to go the extra mile in advocating Kashmiris’ cause at important world forums”.
Wani hoped that Pakistan would continue to extend its moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris till they achieve their cherished goal of freedom from India’s unlawful and forcible occupation.
Wani further said Pakistan has always played a pivotal role in providing every possible support at the regional and international level to the ongoing liberation struggle of the Kashmiri people. —APP
