INAGAR: Illegally detained senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Shabbir Ahmed Shah has called upon the international community to intervene and protect the land and identity of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Shah in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail highlighted the risks posed by the Modi-led regime in India, which seeks to impose Hindutva ideology in the Muslim-majority territory.

He cited examples such as the sacking of Muslim employees from government jobs, the renaming of schools, colleges, roads and landmarks with Muslim-rooted names and the singing of devotional Hindu hymns in educational institutions.

Meanwhile, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah in an interview with media in Srinagar declared the recently-held election result a resounding rejection of the illegal actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He stressed that the outcome highlighted the widespread discontent with the BJP’s decisions, especially the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.

He emphasized that his party will advocate for the restoration of Article 370, regardless of the BJP’s stance.
