NEW DELHI: Illegally detained Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Masarrat Alam Butt has paid tribute to Shaheed Burhan Wani and his associates on their martyrdom anniversary.
According to media reports, Burhan Wani, along with his two fellows, was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag on July 8, 2016. Masarrat Alam Butt, in his message from Tihar Jail on the eve of eighth martyrdom anniversary of Wani, lauded Burhan Wani as a role model for the people of Kashmir in their struggle against Indian oppression.
The APHC urged the Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) to organize protest rallies, seminars and other events to honour popular youth leader Wani and his companions, who lit the candle of Kashmir’s freedom movement with their blood.
Masarrat Alam Butt termed Wani as a role model for the people of Kashmir in their struggle against Indian subjugation.
