SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) voiced grave concern regarding the recent deaths of eight innocent Kashmiris at the hands of Indian troops in India illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
As per reports from Kashmir Media Service, the APHC representative, based in Srinagar, expressed deep dismay over the ongoing terror inflicted by Indian forces across the occupied territory. This surge in violence, exemplified by the loss of lives in fabricated encounters within Baramulla, Kulgam, and Rajouri over the past three days, highlights the perilous situation faced by Kashmiris under India’s strategy of gradual extermination.
The spokesman unequivocally criticized India, particularly under the governance of Narendra Modi and the dominant Hindutva-influenced military establishment, for orchestrating what he described as a slow-motion genocide of the Kashmiri populace. He decried the extrajudicial killings carried out by Indian troops shielded by oppressive laws, accusing them of mercilessly targeting, apprehending, and tormenting Kashmiri civilians on a daily basis.
Citing the intensified crackdown following the appointment of RR Swain, affiliated with the RSS, as Director General of Police in occupied Kashmir, the spokesman condemned the strategic deployment of state power to terrorize the people, particularly the youth, through unlawful killings and mass detentions. RR Swain’s tenure, he asserted, was marked by an alarming surge in house raids and arrests, all in line with an alleged agenda to alter the demographic fabric of the region.
While honouring the sacrifices made by the martyrs, the spokesman affirmed their efforts would not be in vain and expressed confidence in Kashmiris eventually attaining freedom from Indian oppression.
Additionally, he strongly denounced the prolonged house arrest of senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the ban on Friday prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
Finally, the spokesman reiterated the imperative role of the UN in curbing Indian state-sponsored terrorism in occupied Kashmir and emphasized the need for a resolution to the longstanding Kashmir dispute that aligns with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
