ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced profound concern regarding the ongoing cordon and search operations, along with house raids conducted by Indian troops and intelligence agencies in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

As reported by Kashmir Media Service, the APHC, in a statement from Srinagar, expressed distress over the persistent operations aimed at intimidating the freedom-loving individuals and activists in the region.

Highlighting the continuous arrests and summoning of youth to police stations, the statement emphasized that such coercive tactics have not deterred the people of Kashmir from steadfastly pursuing their legitimate demand for the right to self-determination.

The APHC underscored that Jammu and Kashmir is not merely a law and order issue or a territorial dispute, but rather a political one, acknowledged by the United Nations and its Security Council as a matter of the right to self-determination.

In a critique directed at the Hindutva Bharatiya Janata Party regime, the statement condemned its egregious record of human rights violations in IIOJK. It reiterated the Kashmiri people’s peaceful and democratic quest for their political and birthright to self-determination, urging for a resolution of the protracted Kashmir conflict in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri populace.

The statement appealed to the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, to intervene and facilitate a resolution of the Kashmir dispute based on UN resolutions and the desires of the Kashmiri people, while also urging pressure on India to halt human rights abuses in IIOJK.
