SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has voiced deep concern over the denial of fundamental political rights to Kashmiris and accused India of engaging in ethnic cleansing in the region.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, the APHC spokesperson called for urgent international intervention to halt what they described as blatant violations of international laws by New Delhi in its efforts to suppress the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The spokesperson highlighted the valiant and unwavering spirit of the people of Kashmir, emphasizing that the prevailing silence imposed by India, with over a million Indian forces deployed in IIOJK, is a deceptive tactic employed by the occupation regime.
The APHC reiterated that the people of Kashmir are legitimately resisting to secure their inalienable right to self-determination, as recommended and guaranteed by United Nations resolutions. The spokesperson stressed that India has no authority to suppress the Kashmiri people’s freedom sentiments.
Urging the United Nations to take action, the APHC called on Secretary-General António Guterres to prevent India from changing the demography of the disputed territory, a move that would violate international laws and agreed-upon norms of conflict resolution.
The spokesperson underscored the need for the international community to address the Kashmir dispute promptly, as it has become a potential nuclear flashpoint with far-reaching implications for global peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile, APHC leaders in Islamabad denounced a recent verdict by the Indian Supreme Court, asserting that it serves the agenda of Hindutva forces led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders argued that the verdict is clear evidence of Hindutva forces manipulating the Indian judiciary to impose their nefarious agenda in Kashmir.
