SRINAGAR: Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have reiterated that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are steadfastly engaged in the struggle to exercise their UN-pledged right to self-determination, and they are determined to pursue it to its ultimate fruition, regardless of the challenges.

As reported by the Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Saleem Zargar, Yasmeen Raja, Farida Bahenji, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, and Ghazi Manzoor, issued statements in Srinagar affirming that the Kashmiri people’s freedom movement has gained international recognition as a just struggle.

They pointed out that the UN Security Council, through numerous resolutions, has acknowledged the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. International law, they emphasized, grants the Kashmiri people the right to strive for liberation from the illegal Indian occupation of their homeland.

Kashmir Freedom Movement

The APHC leaders emphasized that the ongoing freedom movement, which reflects the aspirations of the entire population of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), will persist until the UN resolutions are implemented. They condemned India’s attempts to label the Kashmiri freedom movement as terrorism through false flag operations and propaganda, asserting that such efforts will not succeed.

The leaders stated that the Narendra Modi-led Indian government should not equate those striving for freedom with terrorists. They emphasized that the Modi regime’s violent repression in IIOJK will not quell the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.

Furthermore, they called upon the international community to support the Kashmiri people’s freedom movement and fulfill their responsibilities regarding the conduct of a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
