PESHAWAR: The five-day anti-polio vaccination and eradication drive continued on the third consecutive day in specific districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the campaign, more than 7.4 million children would receive polio drops, said the Health Department on Tuesday, further adding that the campaign was being conducted in all districts of Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan divisions simultaneously.
While snowfall temporarily suspended campaign in the Malakand and Hazara divisions, however, restarted on Tuesday, March 05.
Over 35,000 teams were formed to administer polio drops, with over 55,000 police personnel deployed for their security. In the provincial capital, 901,986 children under the age of five were targeted for vaccination, with 2,506 teams organized and provided with adequate security measures. The campaign is scheduled to continue until March 09. —APP
