Anti-Narcotics Drive: Several Arrested, 331 kg of Drugs Recovered

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan has recovered over 331 kg of drugs while arrested 11 accused during different operations across Pakistan, an ANF spokesperson said.

In a statement, the spokesperson said that during the operations, 10.5 kg of heroin was seized from a parcel bound for the UK at the Cargo Office in Islamabad, leading to an arrest. Additionally, 2.5 kg of Ice was recovered from a parcel destined for Sri Lanka at the Lahore Courier Office, and 68 Ice-filled capsules were found on a passenger headed to Qatar at Islamabad Airport.

Furthermore, 1.8 kg of hashish was confiscated from a passenger bound for Doha at Peshawar Airport, while 330 grams of cocaine were discovered in a parcel originating from Nigeria at Lahore Airport. In a separate operation, 255 kg of opium was recovered from the Galikank Mustang area, and 29 kg of hashish was seized from two suspects apprehended on the M-1 Motorway in Islamabad.

Furthermore, 22 kg of hashish was recovered near the Lakpas Toll Plaza in the Mustang area, leading to an arrest. Seven kg of hashish were seized from two suspects detained near Sher Shah Toll Plaza in Multan, and in the 10th operation, one kg of hashish was recovered from three suspects apprehended near Mohalla Usmania in Gilgit.

The spokesperson confirmed that cases were registered against the accused and investigations are underway.  —APP
