ANP Pays Tribute to APS Martyrs, Urges NAP Implementation

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan on Saturday commemorated the sacrifices of innocent lives in the Army Public School (APS) incident, saying that those who lost their lives to terrorism would always be revered in their memories.

In a message issued in connection with the APS 9th anniversary released from Bacha Khan Markaz, Asfandyar Wali Khan specifically remembered the innocent children and teachers who fell victim to the brutal actions of militants on December 16, 2014.

He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of ANP in the war against terror, noting that over 1200 party workers had laid their lives for the country during the era of militancy, and their memories live on in the hearts of the people.

Highlighting the current situation, Asfandyar Wali stressed the need to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in its true spirit to control militancy. Expressing concern over the regrouping of militants and their targeting of law enforcers and civilians, he deemed it a grave matter for all.

Asfandyar Wali suggested concrete steps to eradicate militancy, including addressing the facilitators of the country’s enemies. He emphasized the importance of devising a plan to change the mindset of extremists and counter their narrative. He argued that strict implementation of previous decisions is essential to eliminate militancy once and for all.
