Another Person Killed in India’s Violence Hit Manipur: Report

NEW DELHI: Another person was killed in a fight as the violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities persists even following eight months, western media reported on Sunday. According to media report, the killed person was identified as James Ningombam from Mayang-langjing in the Imphal West district of Manipur.

Eyewitness said that the firing started around 4 am near two villages, Nakhujang and Kadanban in the troubled region of Manipur. The clash between the two communities resulted in the death of one person, who succumbed to injuries from a bomb explosion in Kadanban village of Manipur.

Local administration also confirmed the recent violence and death of one person in the violence hit region. Similarly, another clash between the two communities started in the evening in Moreh district, where a police man was wounded.

A total of 142 checkpoints were set up in several districts of violence-hit Manipur, where the police arrested around 204 people.  More than 200 people have been killed in Manipur since May 3, when the ethnic violence started.
