WASHINGTON: Annie Wersching, an American actress known for her starring role as Renee Walker in 24 and recurring roles in several American television series, such as Bosch and Timeless, died of cancer at the age of 45 on Sunday morning, according to her publicist.

Renee Walker was her most famous character from the television drama “24.”

In a statement, Wersching’s spouse, Stephen Full, said that their family was currently suffering from a huge hole in the soul. But she did leave them the tools to fill it.

“In the most ordinary situation, she found wonder. She could dance without any accompaniment. She showed us that we shouldn’t wait for the adventure to find us. Go find it. It’s everywhere. And find it we shall,” he wrote.

Contributions of Annie Wersching in 45 years

Wersching also contributed to Tess’ voice in the video game “The Last of Us.” Neil Druckmann, the creative director of new HBO Max series “The Last of Us” based on the game, tweeted on Wesching’s passing that just found out my good friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a wonderful artist and person. My heart is broken. Her loved ones are in our thoughts. The “Handmaid’s Tale” actress Ever Carradine started a GoFundMe page in support of Annie’s husband and children “so they can keep living their lives in a way that they know would make Annie proud.”

Wersching, who played the Borg Queen in “Star Trek Picard” in 2022, frequently posted pictures of herself from the set wearing her outfit along with messages of appreciation for the prosthetics and makeup technicians who helped her become the intergalactic villain. On IMDb, Wersching’s part in “Star Trek Picard,” which airs on Paramount+, is noted as one of her final paid works.

On Sunday, Wersching’s spouse wrapped up his remarks with a heartfelt remembrance.

“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the curving driveway and street, she would yell BYE! till we left the area and entered the outside world. It’s still ringing, I can hear it. Bye, my friend. Saying “I love you, little family”.
