ANF Seizes 75 kg Drugs; Arrests Seven Accused

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan conducted seven operations across the country and recovered 75 kg of drugs and arrested seven accused including a woman, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman here Monday.

He informed that in an operation carried out at the Islamabad International Airport, 1.6 kg of heroin and 344 grams of the drugs known as Ice from a passenger hailing from Mustang was seized. The individual was set to depart for Qatar on flight PK-287.

Two separate operations near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad led to the discovery of 2 kg of hashish from a female passenger’s bag. Additionally, another 11 kg of hashish was found concealed within hidden compartments of a vehicle. During these operations, three suspects from Peshawar were also arrested.

At a courier office in Karachi, another operation resulted in the recovery of Ice drugs that had been absorbed into pillow covers. The parcel, weighing over 24.3 kg, had been destined for aborad.

In Quetta, a drug smuggler from Qilla Abdullah was apprehended at Hazar Ganji Chowk, and the authorities seized 26 kg of hashish from his possession.

In the seventh operation, 9 kg of hashish concealed in an uninhabited area of Zakha Khel in Khyber for the purpose of smuggling was successfully retrieved.

The spokesperson further mentioned that the accused individuals have had cases filed against them under the Anti-Narcotics Act. —APP
