RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting five operations successfully recover 49 kg drugs and arrested four accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Wednesday.
During one operation, 38 grams of marijuana were confiscated from a parcel originating from the UK at the courier office in Chaklala, Rawalpindi. In Mianwali, a raid led to the recovery of over 2.7 grams of heroin from a motorcycle, and a local resident was arrested in connection with the operation.
Near the M-2 Ravi Toll Plaza in Lahore, 2 kilograms of hashish concealed in a vehicle were discovered, leading to the arrest of two individuals from Khyber. In another operation near the Passport Office in Karachi, 185 narcotic (ecstasy) tablets were recovered from a suspect who is a resident of Islamabad.
Additionally, 45 kilograms of charras, intended for smuggling, were found in an uninhabited area near Coastal Highway Pasni.
The accused individuals are now facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are currently underway. —APP
