ANF Seizes 226Kg of Drugs in 7 Operations

RAWALPINDI: Five suspects were arrested, and 226 kg of drugs were recovered by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) during seven operations, according to an ANF Headquarters official on Thursday.

He claimed that more than 2.8 kg of Ice drug was discovered at Islamabad Airport in a passenger’s suitcase. The accused, who was a Lahore resident, was traveling to Bahrain on flight EK-613.

In a separate operation conducted in Faizabad, Rawalpindi, 135 narcotics (ecstasy) tablets were confiscated from a passenger’s bag, a KP resident.

In another operation, over 26.4 kg hashish and 96 kg opium found in a secret cavity of a vehicle were recovered at Motorway Khanewal Toll Plaza.

In the fourth operation, authorities at Jinnah International Airport detained a passenger from Buner who was about to board a flight to Sharjah. During the search, law enforcement agencies discovered eight ecstasy tablets in his possession.

ANF operation in Karachi

The fifth operation involved the interception of a parcel bound for Australia through a courier office in Karachi. Within the package, authorities found a substantial 10.4 kg illicit drug called Ice.

In the sixth operation, on Charsada Road in Mardan, a significant haul of 79.2 kg of hashish was discovered, cunningly concealed within the toolbox of a rickshaw. Two individuals from Nowshera were arrested during this operation as they attempted to transport the narcotics from Mardan to Punjab.

Furthermore, 1.7 kg of Ice and 10 kilograms of hashish were recovered from an uninhabited area in Khyber, which was concealed for smuggling.

While more investigations are ongoing, cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been lodged against every accused.
