RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out 10 operations nationwide in its crackdown on drug traffickers, resulting in the seizure of 425 kg of drugs and the arrest of seven individuals, according to a spokesperson from the ANF Headquarters.
One operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore led to the recovery of 1400 grams of Ice drug from a passenger’s trolley bag, with the accused, a Lahore resident, intending to travel to Bahrain on flight GF-676. In a separate incident at the same airport, 650 grams of heroin were found in another passenger’s trolley bag, leading to the arrest of a Lahore resident planning to fly to Bahrain on Flight No. GF-767.
Additionally, a parcel bound for the United Kingdom from a courier office in Karachi contained three kg of heroin and 240 grams of Ice. In Rawalpindi, two suspects, including a woman, were arrested near T-Chowk with 1040 grams of heroin and 1025 grams of Ice.
Another operation in Karachi led to the discovery of 66 kg of hashish hidden in a rickshaw, and an individual was arrested. On the Super Highway in Karachi, 32.4 kg of hashish concealed in two inverters resulted in another arrest.
In Jinnah Colony, Karachi, 9.6 kg of hashish was recovered from the bag of an arrested individual. Moreover, a house on Noshki Road, Mastung, yielded 100 kg of hashish and 200 kg of opium. In Zakhakhel Khyber, nine kg of hashish were found, and 690 grams of Ice were recovered from an uninhabited area near Nadra Chowk, Torkham.
The arrested individuals are facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.
