ANF Recovers 98 Kg Drugs in 13 Operations

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted thirteen operations across Pakistan and managed to recover 98 kg of drugs and arrested 16 accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesperson on Friday.

He informed that 9 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of two passengers going to Sharjah at Peshawar Airport.

Additionally, 2.9 kg of Ice was seized from a passenger heading to Qatar at Islamabad Airport. Another 1 kg of Ice was recovered from a passenger travelling to Qatar at Sialkot Airport.

Moreover, 400 grams of heroin were intercepted from a parcel intended for Italy at the Lahore Courier Office. At Islamabad Airport, 116 heroin-filled capsules were found on two passengers bound for Middle East and Turkey in separate operations. Similarly, 19 heroin-filled capsules were discovered from a passenger en route to Malaysia at Lahore Airport.

In the ninth operation, 164 grams of weed were retrieved from two parcels dispatched to Thailand from a courier office in Rawalpindi. Additionally, 40.8 kg of hashish was seized from three suspects near Motorway Chowk Peshawar. In the 11th operation, 21.3 kg of hashish was confiscated from two suspects apprehended near G.T Road Sohawa. Lastly, 14 kg of hashish was confiscated from two women apprehended near M-1 Motorway Islamabad.

Furthermore, 1.2 kg of opium, 2 kg of heroin, and 3.3 kg of hashish were recovered from two suspects arrested on Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad. The arrested individuals are facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are ongoing.   —APP
