ANF Foils Bid to Smuggle Over 2.5 tons of Drugs Abroad

RAWALPINDI: Over 2.5 tons of drugs were recovered when an international drug smuggling effort was thwarted by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday.

According to a spokesman for ANF Headquarters, a vast amount of drugs were found after a significant intelligence-based operation was carried out in Turbat’s Basohli region.

During the raid, more than 2.5 tonnes of drugs were recovered from the home, including 195 kg of Ice substance, 2080 kg of hashish, and 290 kilograms of heroin.

The drug packets kept in the house to be smuggled overseas by sea include ornamental lettering of Afghani goods. According to the spokeswoman, ANF has begun an inquiry into the narcotics traffickers. —APP
