RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted eleven operations and managed to recover over 2600 kg of drugs and arrested 11 accused, said an ANF spokesperson on Monday.
The spokesperson said that three accused were apprehended at Lahore Airport with 1.5 kg of heroin and 175 grams of diazepam powder. Additionally, 918 grams of Ice were recovered from a passenger going to Doha at Peshawar Airport, while one metric ton of hashish was discovered near Chaman Road in Quetta.
In a separate operation, 1300 kg of hashish was confiscated in Qilla Abdullah. During the eighth operation, 49.2 kg of hashish and 34.8 kg of opium were recovered from the possession of two suspects apprehended near Motorway Toll Plaza in Sheikhupura. Furthermore, 50.4 kg of hashish were confiscated from two suspects apprehended on Islamabad Motorway.
The spokesperson further said that in the tenth operation, 11 kg of hashish was retrieved from Zakhakhel Khyber, while in the eleventh operation, 2.5 kg of heroin was found in the possession of three suspects apprehended near G.T Road in Lahore.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act, while investigations are underway to arrest the main culprits. —APP
