ANF Arrests 12 Suspects

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted 11 operations across Pakistan and managed to recover 122 kg of drugs and arrested 12 accused, said an ANF spokesperson on Wednesday. During these operations, various quantities of different drugs were recovered from different locations across the country. In Peshawar, 36 kg of opium was recovered near Ring Road, leading to the apprehension of one suspect.

Meanwhile, in Lahore, 22 kg of methadone was seized from the Liberty Chowk area, with one individual arrested during the operation. Moving to Khyber, 18 kg of hashish was confiscated from Torkham Road, while near Faisalabad Road, 12 kg of hashish and 7 kg of opium were recovered, resulting in the arrest of another suspect. In Balochistan, 10 kg of hashish was confiscated from an individual.

In Hyderabad, a significant haul was made, with 7 kg of hashish, 100 grams of heroin, and 50 grams of Ice drug recovered from a smuggler nabbed near Qasimabad. In Peshawar, 3.6 kg of hashish was seized near Labour Colony, leading to the arrest of three suspects.

Moreover, ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel destined for Karachi at the Cargo Office Lahore, recovering 2 kg of hashish. Additionally, in Lahore, 2 kg of Ice was seized from a courier office, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

In Gilgit, a combined haul of 1.4 kg of hashish, along with three 30-bore pistols with 7 magazines and 15 rounds, was recovered from an individual. Finally, in Dina, Jhelum, 900 grams of hashish were seized from two individuals, leading to their arrest.

Following these operations, cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been filed against the apprehended individuals, and further investigations are currently underway.  —APP
