RAWALPINDI: Director Agriculture Extension Rawalpindi Division, Syed Shahid Iftikhar Bukhari has stated that there is an abundant supply of fertilizers available across the province of Punjab.
He said that especially for the wheat crop, of the Rabi season of 2023-24, there is absolutely no shortage of any kind of fertilizers.
The official added the provincial government has implemented a zero-tolerance policy against individuals involved in selling fertilizer at higher prices and black marketing.
He stated that a penalty of 1,783,000 rupees has been imposed on those who did not sell fertilizers at the prescribed rates, while 2,000 bags of fertilizers have been confiscated in this regard.
Iftikhar Bukhari went on to say during office hours, complaints can also be registered on the Agricultural Help Line number 0800-17000.
He said from July 1st until now in the Rawalpindi Division, cases have been registered against 17 individuals involved in overpricing and black marketing of fertilizers.
The official added punishments are being handed out to those individuals engaged in this nefarious business.
