BEIRUT, Lebanon: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent efforts to broker a ceasefire deal for Gaza amidst ongoing conflict reflect the evolving dynamics of a world torn by warfare. Blinken’s diplomatic endeavors come amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas, with both sides entrenched in a prolonged conflict that has exacted a heavy toll on civilians and further destabilized an already volatile region.
Hamas, governing the Gaza Strip, has proposed changes to a US-backed ceasefire plan, seeking guarantees for a permanent cessation of hostilities and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
