LOS ANGELES: American music producer Benny Blanco has opened up about his engagement and future wedding plans with singer and actress Selena Gomez, revealing that the couple is not rushing to set a date due to their demanding schedules.

Speaking on the Therapuss podcast with Jake Shane, Blanco confirmed that while he and Gomez are excited about their engagement, they have yet to begin serious preparations for the wedding.

“We’re both working on so many things that we hadn’t even had time to get into it,” he said.

“But we’re so excited. I think this summer we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘OK, what are we doing?’”

The couple, who have been in a relationship since mid-2023, announced their engagement in December 2024.

Gomez shared the news through an Instagram post, showing off a marquise diamond ring with the caption: “Forever begins now.” The ring is estimated to be worth between $200,000 and $1 million.

During the podcast, Blanco said he was looking forward to taking a short break to unwind. “I just want to lie in bed and forget what day it is,” he said.

“Not usually, but with Selena, I can do it all day. She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, eat food, and have the best time ever.”

Blanco described the upcoming wedding as something the couple wants to feel “chill” and “amazing,” noting that Gomez has already created a vision board with personal touches.

These include a relaxed backyard setting and dancing with her grandfather instead of a traditional first dance. He also hinted that British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran may be among the guests.

Since their engagement, both Gomez and Blanco have had packed professional commitments.

In March 2025, the couple released their first joint album, I Said I Love You First, featuring singles like “Call Me When You Break Up” and “Sunset Blvd.”

Blanco is also working on another book, while Gomez continues to film and promote her series Only Murders in the Building.

Reflecting on their relationship in a previous interview with Interview magazine, Gomez said, “I actually feel valued. I feel seen. I feel respected. And I think that’s all I’ve ever really wanted.”

She added that being single for five years before dating Blanco helped her appreciate the kind of patience and unconditional love he offers.

Blanco, for his part, offered a humorous take on his relationship philosophy: “Happy wife, happy life.”
