WASHINGTON: Prominent figures from the American entertainment industry, including Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, have collectively addressed an open letter to US President Joe Biden, urgently appealing for an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Hollywood celebrities have joined hands to demand a halt to the escalating violence in the Gaza Strip, which has led to significant Palestinian casualties due to Israeli airstrikes.
Under the title of ‘Artists 4 Ceasefire,’ a letter bearing the signatures of numerous singers, actors, comedians, and influential personalities from Hollywood passionately implored the Biden administration to take swift action in advocating for and facilitating a ceasefire, bringing an end to the airstrikes in Gaza.
The letter stated, “Half of Gaza’s population, which numbers two million, consists of children, and over two-thirds are refugees and their offspring who have been compelled to leave their homes. It is imperative that humanitarian aid be permitted to reach them.”
The letter further stated, “At the time of writing, over the past 12 days, more than 6,000 bombs have been deployed in Gaza, resulting in the tragic loss of one child’s life every 15 minutes.”

The daily living conditions in Gaza are getting worse, and the people there are suffering from severe shortages of food, water, and electricity.
