SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a statement asserting that India’s refusal to address the Kashmir dispute has endangered the political and legal rights of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and threatens the peace of the entire South Asian region.

According to APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, Jammu and Kashmir is internationally recognized as a disputed territory, the resolution of which is to be determined by the Kashmiri people through a plebiscite supervised by the international community. Minhas emphasized that India cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ desire for freedom through brutal tactics, as they remain steadfast in their struggle against Indian occupation.

The spokesman condemned the belligerent rhetoric of Indian leaders, citing baseless allegations by Hindutva BJP leaders against Kashmiri demands for freedom as evidence of India’s threat to regional stability. He dismissed puppet BJP’s Manoj Sinha’s claims of political peace initiatives as mere political theatrics that cannot alter historical facts or Kashmir’s disputed status. Minhas warned that inflammatory remarks from Indian military and Hindutva leaders only escalate tensions in the region.

Minhas highlighted India’s use of force to suppress Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for self-determination, emphasizing that such tactics will not deter Kashmiris from their rightful aspirations. He condemned Narendra Modi’s undemocratic measures, stressing that lasting peace in South Asia depends on a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

The statement underscored Kashmiris’ determination to thwart Hindutva BJP-RSS’s divisive agenda in IIOJK and urged the international community to pressure India to address the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ wishes and relevant UN resolutions.
