Cairo: Egyptian Islamic scholar and the head of al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, strongly condemned the deadly suicide blast in Pakistan’s North Western Bajaur district, adding that such attacks are against the principles of Islam and divine religions.
The scholar, in a statement, stressed upon the need to form a united front at the international level to fight against the menace of terrorism. He sympathized with the families of the victims and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

Al-Azhar founded in 10th century in Cairo, is one of the largest and one of the most revered religious university in the Muslim world.
The death toll from a suicide bombing in Khar, Bajaur district, has risen to at least fifty-four, while 90 others were injured in the attack.
Hundreds of supporters of the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) political party were gathered on Sunday in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when the explosion took place.
Meanwhile, the international community and major Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, have strongly condemned the deadly attack.
