CAIRO: Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Arab League, and Egypt have strongly condemned the act of desecration of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden by an extremist politician.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif said on Sunday that the Holy Qur’an will “remain in its glory” to guide the entire humanity. Extremist and Right-wing politician Rasmus Paludan burned the holy Qur’an in Stockholm during a protest on Saturday, sparking worldwide protests.
Al-Azhar asked the world to condemn the act of extremists in Stockholm and demanded an immediate probe into the incident.
Similarly, Secretary-General of Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Egypt’s government also strongly condemned the acts of extremists in Stockholm. In a tweet, the Secretary-General of Arab League strongly condemned the act in Sweden.

He added: “Such extreme and abnormal actions should be condemned by everyone, especially in Sweden.” He further said that freedom of speech should not be a pretext for extremist elements to explode the fire of hatred between followers of different religions in the world. He also mentioned the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account in his post.
Egypt strongly denounced the burning of the Holy Qur’an by Swedish extremists in Stockholm and termed it as a “disgraceful act” that provoked the sentiments of hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide.
