MIRPUR: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has strongly condemned the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar by India’s intelligence agency, RAW, on Canadian soil saying it is a glaring example of India’s state-sponsored terrorism.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the AJK Prime Minister called upon European countries, particularly the United States, to take effective notice of the matter. He asserted that the cold-blooded murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar mirrored the incidents that occur daily in the Indian Illegally-Occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq emphasized that Nijjar’s murder resembled the methods employed by Indian intelligence agencies in their actions against Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir. He expressed disappointment that the world had not heeded the calls of Kashmiris to hold India accountable for the atrocities committed by its forces against them.
Indian’s State-Sponsored Terrorism In IIOJK
The Prime Minister stated that Kashmiris have long asserted that the Indian army and its intelligence agencies were involved in targeted killings of innocent civilians in IIOJK, yet no action had been taken against the Indian government.
He underscored that now that the Canadian government had indicated India’s involvement in the murder of one of its citizens, it was imperative for the international community to play a vital role in ensuring that those responsible for this act of terrorism were brought to justice.
Regarding India’s dire human rights record, the Prime Minister remarked that the Kashmiri people had suffered the most due to Indian state terrorism. He called on the international community to take notice of the Kashmiri people’s plight and advocate for their legitimate right to self-determination.
